Mom's Italy trip

Mom went to Italy last summer and took my Xacti HD camecorder. Here are the photos and videos. The trip hit most of the big cities; Venice, Pisa, some coastal town off the Med, Pompeii, Rome, and other places.

I tweaked out several of the pics with Picasa photo editing & they came out really sweet. Check em...

A great time in San Diego!

I had a great time during my parents' visit this August in San Diego. Mike and Patti sure had a great time and so did I. We saw a San Diego Padre game, got to Pacific Beach to see the surfers, visited the USS Midway, toured through the newly updated Hotel Del Coronado, and took in the views from the top of the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

Videos and pictures are available on my Picasa page. Click the slideshow to view the vids and pics. For highest quality, download the entire set but make sure you have enough disk space...

and here is a bonus slideshow from the Red Bull Air Race over San Diego Bay a couple weeks later. This folder has lots of video, pictures from the week, and images from the official website and fan websites.

Yacht inside a ?? Mega-Yacht

CHECK THIS OUT~!!!

I was biking on the Embaracdero in downtown San Diego this past April, when I came upon this sight. The striking part is that the yacht inside is a large Viking, probably 32 foot. I mean, a large boat in its own right. To see it actually moored INSIDE a larger boat was kinda cool. That's why I had to stop my bike ride and take a couple quick snaps.

Giant 10 Lb Lobster Caught off San Diego coast

My friend Brad is a pro lobster diver here in San Diego. He dives off the Ocean Beach coast with a night light and a bag, roots around under the rocks, and comes up with the maxiumum 7 lobsters per night just about every time he goes out. There is a lobster season so they have time to regenerate.

By the looks of the one he caught last Friday, it might be time to open the season up a bit more. This is a pacific spiny lobster, probably 10 pounds and between 20-40 years old. Amazing that he gave himself up but, damn, was he tasty...

Here is a video of the lobster

Photos & Videos from my Cessna flight over Southwest Florida

(click the slideshow below to link to the gallery)

Thanks to Captain Brann for his steady flying, Dad and I had a wonderful time flying high above Southwest Florida on a beautiful, sunny and clear December day last Christmas season.

The flight started at the Naples Airport. We took off heading north for Venice Airport. After a nice lunch, the plane flew for a touch, taxi and go at Fort Myers Airport, then South toward Marco Island. Just East of the island, we did a non-stop touch and go at the Marco Island Executive Airport. The photos clearly show how this small airstrip is surrounded completely by water and mangroves. Pretty cool.

Heading North again, we finally landed at Naples Airport. Unlike boating, we didn't have to spray clean the plane and flush the engine of salt. Nice.

Could it be Tigers in 4? MLB.com has some clues...

Here is something you've really got to check out. I signed up to MLB.com for $9.95 trying to find the highlights from the ALCS game 3 that was played last night between the Tigers and As. My DVR wacked out and missed the recording...grrr

When I got there, I found the entire rebroadcast including commercials from Fox TV and radio. But that is only the beginning...

Check out my account at http://www.mlb.com
You can watch video or audio replays of the entire season for all teams, all games, including some classics. Check out the 30s and 40s.

Go Get 'em Tigers!

UPDATE: I just watched a 'condensed game' video highlight from July 4th this year, Tigers were playing the As but lost in 10 innings. Don't think that is gonna happen today.. get ready to break out the champagne!!

Tigers in 4, slam the door! Hear 'em Roar!

Here's a good article reviewing the Inland Invasion concert festival. I was thinking of driving up to see it but never made the trip...maybe I should have.

Oh my G.., what? A new Iron Maiden album just came out??? NO WAY!

WAY!!!, and I will be heading directly to Tower Records to purchase this 71 minute new CD with bonus DVD. I will be dying to hear the sound of the three guitarists soloing out. And just so that record companies know, if you include a DVD with the music, you will sell lots more CDs.
